Xpression FM won two awards at the annual Student Radio Association Awards, held at the O2 in London.

The station had been nominated in three categories; Best Interview, Best Student Radio Chart Show, and Best Live Event or Outside Broadcast.

Will Brookes’ interview with Julian Tagg won Gold for ‘Best Interview, whilst Xpression FM’s ‘Three Campus Broadcast’ won bronze for ‘Best Live Event or Outside Broadcast’. The Gold for the latter category went to Nottingham Trent’s Fly FM for their Varsity Series, whilst UEA’s Livewire took gold in the ‘Chart Show’ group.

Sophie Waller, Xpression’s Station Manager, told Exeposé that they were “delighted to have won bronze for our 3 Campus Broadcast at the Student Radio Awards, where we broadcasted simultaneously from Streatham, St Luke’s & Penryn Campus, but also of Will Brooke’s interview, which won gold! It was a fantastic evening celebrating at the O2 in London, so thanks to all those involved!”
