Today is a real treat – we bring you our third Creative Fridays! Peter Tse has written a wonderful sonnet about the potential pitfalls of Valentine’s Day…
One Valentine’s Day I had to give some advice.
Flowers – red roses? Bunched on table tops,
Or with confetti glazed white table cloths,
Or sprinkled high over warm, bubbly baths,
Music hums, melody whispers, wine pops.
We are full. Thanks for your call. The line drops.
What a bad excuse – fully booked for months.
Yeah, sorry to add this too, you might find this a bit disappointing.
All local florists have two week backlogs.
So write her a poem, like roses are red…
Or maybe that walk along the river,
Or maybe just a whole day spent in bed,
Whatever sounds good for star-crossed lovers.
Anyway I’m near 13, I’m running
Out of words to show your happy ending.
