Mental Health Awareness Week

This week, 11-17th May, is Mental Health Awareness Week, and Mind Your Head Society are running a campaign to help raise awareness.

Now in its fifteenth year, Mental Health Awareness Week has raised topics like anxiety, exercise, loneliness and fear. The theme for this year is mindfulness.

Mindfulness is believed to be beneficial because it reduces stress, boosts productivity, gives people greater concentration and enjoyment in life, as well as helping those with more serious problems such as depression, anxiety, and eating disorders.  You can find out more here.

Mind Your Head Society are running a campaign on Twitter in order to raise awareness and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health. Throughout this week, they are posting ‘Mental Health Facts’ and anyone who retweets them could be in with a chance to win a £20 ASK Italian gift voucher. The winner will be drawn on Monday 18th MMHAW15ay.

Follow them on Facebook and Twitter for regular updates, helpful tips and for your chance to win! @MindYourHeadExe
