We use the same scoring system as the BBC, meaning that a correct result (picking a win, draw or defeat) is worth 10 points. The exact score earns 40 points. Last week saw guest Robin Butler get one perfect score and one correct result, earning him 50 points. This bettered Rob’s score of 40; (4 correct results). Lawro also gained 40 points. Up this week is Alex Robin, Men’s Squash Captain.
Name: Alex Robin.
Role: Men’s squash captain.
In his own words: After an extremely successful year, ranking as the 4th best University Squash Club in the country, we’ll be looking to emulate our previous success. With our Men’s 1st team remaining in the BUCS Premier Division and our Women’s 1st team returning to the top flight, both will be excited at the prospect of again competing against some of the best players across the country. Having seen a considerable number of the club’s team players graduate this year, it will be exciting to welcome a lot of fresh faces into our squads.
As painful as it is for a United fan to say, Man City have made a flying start to the season and I think we still need to make a couple of big signings if we’re going to compete with them for the title. Something tells me Arsenal won’t be able to break their recent label as ‘nearly men’, while Mourinho will surely need to change something as Chelsea have looked increasingly ordinary since the start of the season and might only just scrape into the top 4 if nothing changes. Most of my predictions are based on teams’ form from recent weeks, with Leicester, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth currently exceeding expectations, whilst Sunderland look destined for the drop.
Season score: Rob 1 – University guests 1 – Lawro 0.
