man who paraded naked near Exeter University’s St Luke’s campus has been imprisoned.
48-year-old Robin Woodward staged his naked protest outside Exeter’s police station in April this year whilst on bail after an allegation of minor assault.
On leaving the police station he removed his clothes and walked around Exeter until he was arrested, protesting his alleged treatment by police during interview.
This week he pleaded guilty to the charge of outraging public decency. He was sentenced to four months in custody but has now been released, having already served six months behind bars.
Defence Counsel, Miss Emily Pitts, said that Woodard suffers from mental health difficulties, and explained that he has now been provided with a care package from Langdon Hospital. This includes the help of psychiatric nurses and supported housing within the city.
