Nearly 900 students keen for an Exeter pillow fight

by Fiona Potigny

Exeter could host a large-scale pillow fight in 2016, following significant interest from students.

Over 880 students have registered their interest in the Facebook event ‘Exeter Students Pillow Fight’ since its creation just one week ago.

Whilst not an officially organised event, it is hoped that the flash mob-style event will take place on Monday 4 April at 2:00pm in order to coincide with International Pillow Fight Day, which will see similar feathery wars inject free, all-age fun into locations across the globe including Bulgaria, Ireland, Greece the Netherlands, China and the United States.

International Pillow Fight Day, now in its seventh year, is part of the Urban Playground Movement, an initiative that celebrates public spaces in cities as “urban living rooms” in an attempt to replace passive, non-social experiences like watching television with fun and social interaction.

Previous Urban Playground events have ranged from a giant mobile clubbing event in a London train station to a subway party beneath the streets of Toronto.
