The Exeter Neon Night Run will be returning on May 28, starting and finishing at the University of Exeter.
Last year’s 5k sponsored run raised an impressive £42,000 in aid of Hospiscare, and the local charity is once again asking locals and students to help light up Exeter.
It is expected that the event, sponsored by Everys Solicitors, will sell out quickly, so potential runners are being encouraged to register as soon as possible.
The event fundraiser for Hospiscare, Celia Wilkinson, described what the Neon Night Race has to offer: “Our Neon Wonderland will open an hour before the run starts, giving you the opportunity to freshen up your face paints and glow in our music tent.
“There will be three splatter stations along the route where you will be covered from head to toe in neon paint. Be prepared to get messy and glow!”
Runners are being offered an entry fee of £15 until Friday 26th February when it will increase to £20. The entry fee covers costs of holding the event, but also includes a Neon Night Run t-shirt, refreshments and some glowing goodies. A pledge of raising £75 sponsorship or a £30 donation to go towards Hospiscare is also being requested.
The local charity, Hospiscare, provides both specialist care for those with terminal illness in Devon and emotional and practical support for the families who are affected. The main hospice building is situated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
