Poltimore Sessions | Jo Summers

Exeposé Music is proud to present - in collaboration with XTV and Poltimore Festival - Poltimore Sessions. Set at the historic Poltimore House, the coming sessions will showcase our favourite local musicians in the build-up to Poltimore 2016.

Jo Summers is a new face in Exeter music. The singer-songwriter spent her childhood in Dubai, but now calls Plymouth home, while studying at the University of Exeter. Her minimalistic strumming patterns place full attention on her voice and the offbeat romantic stories embedded within the lyrics. Having secured a place at the heart of XpressionFM’s Exe List, names like Gabrielle Aplin and Lucy Rose in their acoustic years spring to mind, with influences ranging in all shapes and sizes from Joni Mitchell to Ed Sheeran; further airtime on BBC Introducing’s Roundtable saw ‘Seven Million’ receive praise from all quarters, suggesting Jo is one to keep an eye on over the next few years.

Produced by Chris Filsell, Tristan Gatward, Cara Ludlow and Joe Stewart.

With thanks to Maxine Budd, Franci Donavan-Brady, Richard Griffiths, James Horton, Sam Hutchings, Alicia Pocock, Alice Redgate, Ilona Shadrach, Ben Thornley and ExeTech.
