Ikea is bringing the “Wonderful Everyday Tour” to Exeter and areas across Devon, ahead of the Exeter store’s opening on the 10thMay. Following last weekend’s celebrations on the Quay, this week will see events across Exeter, including Princesshay Shopping Centre, St. Davids Station and Exeter Civic Station.

The tour is filled with community-aimed events, including last Sunday’s ‘Big Cream Tea Break’ which saw a Viking ship visit the Quay to deliver IKEA’s famous lingonberry jam to the proceedings. This week, Exeter residents can take a break from their shopping in the Pit Stop at Princesshay, or take a ride around Exeter on IKEA’s electric bike tour.

“The tour is filled with community-aimed events, including last Sunday’s ‘Big Cream Tea Break’ which saw a Viking ship visit the Quay to deliver IKEA’s famous lingonberry jam to the proceedings”.

“Giving back to the local area is really important to us, so we’re excited to be working with local talent and charities to celebrate IKEA’s arrival in Exeter and Devon,” explained Exeter Store Manager Nick Earle.

“The Wonderful Everyday Tour is our way of building excitement and bringing IKEA’s values to life ahead of our store opening next month. The tour is designed with the local community in mind, and we want to bring a smile to the people of Exeter and Devon with unexpected surprises, while giving them a taste of what to expect once the store opens.”

“we want to bring a smile to the people of Exeter and Devon with unexpected surprises” – Nick Earle.

Alongside encouraging a community feel, the events also aim to promote IKEA’s focus on sustainability, using only biodegradable cups.
