The Ram, Comida and the Guild Shop to reopen in September

The University of Exeter Students’ Guild has announced that some of its outlets, including the Ram, Comida and the Guild Shop, will reopen in early September.

In a statement released on 12 August 2020, the Guild said that the outlets will reopen between 1 September and 10 September with “a number of safety measures and precautions.”

This includes limited capacity in our shop, a click and collect service in Comida and table service in the Ram.

The Guild warned that student experiences in these outlets may be “significantly different” to those pre-coronavirus to ensure that they open safely.

However, not all of the Guild’s outlets will reopen for the start of term; the Lemon Grove, Grove Diner and Italiano will remain shut for the foreseeable future.

The Guild states that it would not be financially viable to open the latter outlets due to lower footfall on campus, and cite the government’s guidance on nightclubs and live music venues remaining shut for the Lemon Grove’s continued closure.

The Ram and the Lemon Grove, among other Guild outlets, have been closed since 17 March – a week before Boris Johnson enforced lockdown measures across the UK.
