Due to the continued rise in cases in Devon and Cornwall, the university is advising that students and colleagues remain vigilant in taking the necessary precautions. However, they highlight that cases related to the university remain low with 18-20% of cases related to the university.

Summary of the Registrar update:

  • While case numbers are increasing in Devon and Cornwall those related to the University have continued to be low.
  • The university encourages students to be vigilant for the remainder of the lockdown period.
  • Students should abide by the guidelines and ensure they social distance and wear face-coverings both on-campus and off-campus where they are legally required to do so.
  • Next week the university will provide an update on plans for the end of the term.
  • The university has a “range of wellbeing support available”.

According to Devon City Council (DCC), including data from until the 14th November, in the preceding week for Devon, there have been 957 cases and 477 in Cornwall. Exeter itself has seen 200 cases in the last week. They also noted that there are only a small number of cases linked to the Penryn Campus in Cornwall.
