Higher Education Roadshow Hits South West

Academics, student ambassadors and higher education advisors from The University of Exeter have collaborated in the Next Steps South West (NSSW) roadshow- a scheme aimed at encouraging secondary school students across to consider the options available to them upon completing their GCSEs.

The NSSW double decker bus has visited high schools across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset over the past 6 weeks, including St James School and Exeter College. The outreach scheme aims to reach some 3000 students across 28 schools.

Students boarding the bus took part in taster lectures, virtual reality tours and pathfinding games.

Outreach Officer for NNSW at the University of Exeter, Taylor Wearne, commented that “It has been fantastic for the students to engage with student ambassadors to get a flavour of what higher education is all about as well as having taster sessions from academics in a wide variety of subjects.”
