An essay
Introduction: Word after word, write your way out of this beginning. Stand right in front of your department, and imagine your steps three years later.
Main body: Imagine yourself stepping surely, swiftly navigating the rooms you’ve sat in for countless seminars. Imagine yourself knowing these paths, the shortcuts between buildings, the quickest way to organise your references. Imagine yourself figuring out where you want to go after this – and then realising that maybe, what you end up yearning for is completely different to the expectations you had at the beginning, the ones you have now, standing here right in front of your department.
Conclusion: Step back into your beginnings, your introductions, your welcome talks. Write yourself down so you can remember yourself later. Reference well your quotes, and let yourself be swept away from this starting point. And don’t listen to me, nearly at the end of my closing, giving you an essay for a poem, standing here right in front of my department.
