The organisers of the Enchanted Garden Ball (EGB) have set new restrictions to protect students from ticket touts.

In a post on their Instagram account, the Enchanted Group have established several new rules to stop the overpricing of EGB tickets on third-party platforms after they are initially sold. The organisers hope that this will “ensure that tickets end up in the hands of genuine ballers, and not price jacking scalpers.”

These rules include a maximum purchase of two tickets per person which will help to stop scalpers from “bulk buying and reselling tickets at jacked up prices” and no ability to transfer tickets and as such if a buyer purchases a ticket for a friend, they will need to collect it on their behalf at the ticket exchange. This follows last year’s more relaxed rules which allowed four tickets to be purchased at once by a buyer.

Other rules include a requirement for every ticket to be exchanged for an event wristband and the name on the ticket presented must match the collector’s ID. QR codes will also be issued closer to the event as a further deterrent.

In a statement given to Exeposé, a spokesperson from the Enchanted Group said, “we recognise that ticket touts have become a problem in recent years, with some students missing out due to inflated prices. These changes aim to create a fairer system and ensure everyone has a genuine chance to attend EGB.”

Tickets for EGB 2025 will be released on 4PM on the 10th February on the ticketing platform Skiddle. This followed last year’s ticketing sales for EGB which saw two unsuccessful ticket drops on FIXR before a third successful attempt on Skiddle. The Enchanted Group said that “Skiddle’s bot detection technology and queuing system will also help to prevent scalpers from manipulating the ticket purchasing process. If you buy a ticket but genuinely can no longer attend, Skiddle’s official resale platform will be operational where you can list your ticket for free for other students to buy.”
