Two suspicious deaths have been reported in Exeter this week, one on Wednesday and one this morning (Friday 12 January). Devon and Cornwall police were called to a property on Mount Pleasant Road, Exeter, at 5:30am this morning to the scene of a dead man. As of 13:05 this afternoon, officers were investigating the crime scene with forensic equipment, and are yet to formally identify the deceased. A 44-year-old Exeter man is in police custody, arrested on suspicion of murder, assisting with police enquiries while the investigation continues.
A family residing in the top floor of the flat where the body was found were temporarily stuck, as a result of the investigation. The mother and two young children were safely taken from the flat by fire services.
On Wednesday of this week, Devon and Cornwall police responded to a body being found in a property on Alphington Road. A 32-year old woman was found dead, with a crime scene investigation deeming the death suspicious and a 36-year-old man having been arrested and charged with the murder of an as of yet not formally identified woman. Darrell Rose, the man in question, appeared in Exeter Magistrates’ court this morning.
