Illuminations A Capella, one of Exeter’s top student music groups, will be performing at the Edinburgh fringe on 20 August.

They have previously appeared on the Sky 1 show Sing: Ultimate A Capella and as a result content with the infamous Semi-Toned for the title of most televised Exeter A Capella group.

The mixed-gender group are taking on the challenge of a set at Edinburgh Fringe, an event which has over the years hosted the likes of Bo Burnham, James Acaster, and even stars like Emma Thompson.

Illuminations told Exeposé that the show was an exciting opportunity for leaving members, and a well-timed addition to the release of their new EP.

“We are very excited for our first ever scripted show at the Edinburgh Fringe and with all new songs and choreography, we are hoping to show off what we can do better than ever before.”

“We are also still riding high off the recent release of our 3 track EP and our music video that was released today so going to Edinburgh will be the perfect end to the year.

It is bittersweet because we will have 7 members leaving us this year but our show will be a great opportunity for a last hurrah for those members, as well as a great springboard to launch the remaining members into another exciting year of a cappella.”
