The plans for a new research and education building at the University of Exeter have been approved, with unanimous support for the go-ahead at Streatham Campus.

Exeter City Council’s planning committee has enabled the new six storey building to be constructed on the site of an existing carpark on campus, to include a 400-seater lecture theatre, seminar and meeting rooms and study areas.

Hosting up to 675 full-time staff, the building has been hailed as an important drive in a post-COVID-19 economy, in order to establish the University of Exeter as a world-leading research institute and educator. The plans will provide greater academic space for students and researchers alike, hoping to draw in more students and staff in coming years.
