Exeter University ranks in the world’s top 150 universities for the first time
Rising 15 places from last year, the University of Exeter is now ranked 149th in the respected QS World University Rankings 2022.
Started in 2004, the QS rankings are based on six indicators and take into consideration more than 1,300 universities worldwide. This year, Exeter has improved in four of the rankings and three have placed in the top 150, namely Employer reputation (138th) and International Faculty (144th).

The recently-appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter, Professor Lisa Roberts, said: “I am absolutely delighted that the University of Exeter has secured a top 150 position in these prestigious rankings for the first time…This achievement reflects the university’s position as a world-leading university for employer reputation, high-quality research and outstanding education for students across the globe. It highlights not only the quality of the ground-breaking research we are carrying out…but also how we are preparing the next generation of graduates for their futures.”
The QS rankings are recognised as the most prestigious comparison of global universities as it is the largest and most in-depth international league table, analysing the performance of the top 1300 universities from 97 countries.
