It’s the living, breathing, singing, talking, dancing, laughing centre of Exeter, and no-one seems to be talking about it – the Exeter Phoenix

This events venue houses pretty much everything you could wish for: a solar-powered cinema screen, theatrical and musical stages, performance and art studios and galleries… and a charming little outside Café Bar to replenish the energy you spend whizzing through all the exciting experiences they have to offer.

Exeter Phoenix is a lively cultural hub at the heart of Exeter, yet it often goes unnoticed.

Once a university building – and a military hospital – the now ‘Exeter Phoenix’ came to life as the Exeter and Devon Arts Centre in the post-WWII reconstruction of the city, and officially opened under its current title in 1999. Today – 25 years on – it is still run by an independent charity, and uses its funds to foster the arts and the community, as their Creative Hub.

Providing spaces for over 150 organisations, as well as hosting Exeter Pride, Exeter Street Arts Festival, and Exeter Respect Festival’s after-party, this versatile place does endless work to support budding and established artists – while also just being a fantastic hang-out spot for the locals.

Exeter Phoenix supports 150+ organisations and major cultural events.

So if you’re looking for somewhere to catch a gig, watch a film, or take dance classes, look no further than the Exeter Phoenix – that endless well of possibilities and opportunities which will never stop surprising you. And what’s more, they offer plenty of student discounts!
