EURL overcome Bath for first victory

EURL 24–6 Bath Uni RL Exeter’s Rugby League 1st XIII ended their wait for a first win of the season with a dominant second half display over Bath. Exeter, the reigning Premier South League Champions, looked as if they were heading for a third successive defeat as Bath battled to a half-time lead. But despite […]

Rugby Varsity 2018: No love lost as Exeter dump Bath in South West derby

GOING into the game, you could be forgiven for thinking an Exeter win in the varsity match was something of a formality. Buoyed by a flawless winning streak at Sandy Park — with last season being the first time since 2011 that Bath managed to chalk up double-figures, shipping an average of 43 points in […]

Track Review: Delmer Darion – Haze (ft. Emily Burns)

With their debut release All Over Again, All Over Again, the Exeter/Bath-based duo Delmer Darion pleased our ears with sparkling, sumptuous electronic music – sensitive synth journeys that are easy to write emotively about. The Emperor of Ice Cream followed, showcasing remixes and sampling ingenuity, injecting life and colour into a kind of music that can be quite […]

EURFC retain Derby crown with huge win

Exeter University’s 1st XV thrashed their rivals Bath 46-8 in a one-sided South West Derby that can only be described as a Rugby Farsity. The EURFC side completely outplayed the visitors as Captain Sam Skinner led the team to yet another emphatic victory at Sandy Park. A huge crowd turned out on the cold Wednesday […]

Grayson Perry: ‘The Vanity of Small Differences’

Grayson Perry’s series of six tapestries, named ‘The Vanity of Small Differences’, has been touring round the UK since 2012. Considering the distinctive lack of an edgy art scene in Exeter, I was elated to discover that the latest exhibition would be a stone’s throw away, in Bath’s Victoria Art Gallery, and so I ventured off with […]

Men’s Lacrosse 1s lose out 9-8 to Bath

In a tight encounter, the Men’s Lacrosse 1s agonisingly lost 9-8 to Bath University at Duckes Meadows. In a fiercely contested game, it was Bath who started brightest; a scramble in front of the goal resulted in the ball somehow finding its way over the line. Bath doubled their lead after a string of saves […]

Track Review: Delmer Darion – Maps

We bring you the first listen of the lead single for Delmer Darion’s sophomore LP, The Emperor of Ice Cream.    “For this moment, this one moment, we are together. I press you to me. Come, pain, feed on me. Bury your fangs in my flesh. Tear me asunder. I sob, I sob.” Virginia Woolf, The Waves […]
