Although he hasn’t given any official statement regarding his presidential run, this former vice president and right-hand man to former President Barack Obama would definitely prove to be a formidable opponent against his strong candidates.
Having been in office for two terms, gives him an edge from the rest as he is already familiar with the ins and outs of the office and he has proven to be adept on the job, having taken on many tough assignments as vice president and managing to make it work as efficiently as possible and with as little damage as possible, leading many people to think that he could beat President Trump.
If he runs, he will be highly favoured amongst people in the black community and to working middle-class Americans. However, he will not be the first choice for some people. If he gets nominated this would only rile up a lot of people into questioning the odds of a woman winning after Hillary’s loss in 2016. His age will also be a factor; him being at the tender age of 77 causes many to wonder whether or not he would still be able to deliver a great job. His political track record has a few, gaping loopholes that leaves him open for attack; His infamous interrogation of Anita Hill doesn’t look good on his resume and his love for the law in a very flawed justice system will not help him either.
Mr Biden is not only an accomplished man but he is also someone with great love for his country and family. However, his current position in the election could turn up either way at this point. It all depends on his ability to stay resilient in the face of adversity and rise up above the rest.
