The long queues are worth the hype when it comes to the £6 meal deal wrap at Devonshire House. The wrap comes completely customisable with three salad options, fillings (meat and vegetarian options), three toppings, and a sauce of your liking. The wrap is a pocketful of sunshine, the various combinations you can create are endless, from spicy to sweet – you’re bound to find something you like! The meal deal also includes any cold drink and a pack of crisps. However, I would recommend getting there early to make the climb up Forum Hill worth it. It’s exactly what’s needed after a long morning lecture.
La Touche offers daily soup which is a warm hug in a bowl!
An underrated gem is the incredible food at La Touche Cafe (a place only business school students seem to know about). They have various choices of hot boxes such as the Jamaican jerk chicken rice box, which is one of my favourites, as well as chicken burgers and wraps. Their rice boxes are a symphony of flavours, glazed honey chicken with fresh salad and warm rice, and are all priced reasonably at £5. La Touche also offers their daily soup, which is a warm hug in a bowl and is exactly what you need on a cold day on campus. But the star of the show is the lattice fries, not only is the crunch incredible, it’s as addictive as a melody stuck in your head. The crisp is to perfection and there is nothing better than having a warm meal on a breezy day!
There’s nothing like a warm bowl of noodles to help you get through readings.
Last but not least, you can never go wrong with The Market Place! I know it’s going to be a great day once I secure my pastry ahead of the crowds, or a hot sausage roll as a midday snack. For those busy days, it’s worth going for a cup noodles and their 90p Kimchi for a quick fix. A great fast and affordable option! There’s nothing like a good warm bowl of noodles to help you get through your readings.
