Christmas is the favourite holiday of the year for many of us students – and not just because of the excuse to gorge on turkey. It’s a chance to relax, visit family, and cover the place with tinsel – but does it really need to start so soon?
Usually I’m all for getting a head start on things, but when you’re seeing advent calendars in Sainsbury’s before you’ve even decided on your Halloween costume, I think it’s a teensy bit much. Not to mention that most of us are drowning in deadlines at this point. It can’t just be me that feels like the armies of smiling snowmen are rubbing it in my face a little. And besides, do we really want to contaminate the joy of the festive period with assessments and essays?
If I hear as much as a whisper of Mariah Carey before December then I’m sorry but Christmas is cancelled. You can have too much of a good thing after all.
