#nerdschatting: An interview with The Lazarus Pit Podders

The other day, I was lucky enough to be sharing a room with two men suffering from what appeared to be the biggest quandary of their lives. Either man could’ve been mistaken for the President of the United States, with their hands hovering over the big red button. The answer to my question seemed to be tantamount […]

Review: Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India

This review is for those distraught folk out there who will have recently heard, to their dismay, that there will be no main release in the Assassin’s Creed franchise this year. Sorry? No gamer actually cares that much? Please excuse my facetiousness but, since 2009, way back in the days of arguably the series’ highlight Assassin’s Creed 2, […]

6 Fallout 4 tracks that are perfect for Itchy Feet

So, why on Earth have Fallout 4, an open world game that released last month on PC and current generation consoles, and Itchy Feet, a vintage dance night touring round 25 cities in the UK including Exeter’s very own Unit 1, been put together? And, it’s not just because I have nothing better to do, […]

Review: An Android Awakes

An Android Awakes, neither a comic book, nor a traditional novel, written by Mike French and illustrated by Karl Brown, is one of the most interesting books I’ve ever read. Constantly unsettling you as a reader and preventing you from settling into a comfortable rhythm, AAA is not a book to be missed. It isn’t perfect, but it’s […]

“A story is the length a story needs to be.” An interview with Mike French

An Android Awakes, a graphic novel written by Mike French and illustrated by Karl Brown released November 13th this year, is one of the most unsettling, disorienting reads I’ve come across in a long time. Neither a comic book nor a traditional novel, it’s an intriguing story that challenges what we perceive to count as […]

As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell Group universities, we stand united against the Russell Group statement which declared ‘no detriment’ or ‘safety net’ policies not to be ‘appropriate’ or ‘necessary’ for students at this time.

Having listened to students at our universities, we are calling on the Russell Group to act compassionately and empathetically and to reconsider their stance on ‘no detriment’ politics for assessments this year.

Students deserve to be listened to.
