Outside of No.1 Polsloe Café (Hayley Bell)

No. 1 Polsloe Café is the perfect spot for those that want a meet up with friends, a solo study date or a group study session. Located on the corner of Pinhoe Road and Polsloe Road, it offers a homely and welcoming atmosphere, and its interior decoration is unmatched. When you enter, there are plenty of seats available and customers are encouraged to share the tables, which in my opinion fosters a very friendly environment. They are open 10am-3pm Wednesdays to Saturday’s, with a menu covering breakfast, brunch, lunch and a variety of drinks.

It offers a homely and welcoming atmosphere.

For drinks they have a variety of options for everyone. Ranging from teas, coffees and hot chocolates to cold drinks such as smoothies, iced coffee, iced matcha and milkshakes. They also have a range of matchas including blueberry, strawberry and pure. Milk alternatives are available too. I had the fruit tea which was lovely on the rainy day I visited.

Their food menu is just as inclusive. As a vegetarian, I always worry about the options that will be available, but No.1 Polsloe have a broad range, which is refreshing to see. There are vegan and Gluten free options as well.

Their breakfast menu includes America style pancakes with Greek, American or Italian toppings and is offered from 10am-2pm. Brunch can be ordered too and again is suitable for everyone’s wants and needs. From a classic breakfast to eggs on toast and veggie and vegan alternatives, there will be something for everyone.

For lunch they offer toasties, served from 10am-2:30pm. I ordered a Mozzarella, Tomato, pesto, Basil and Balsamic glaze toastie which came with crisps and on sourdough bread. It was delicious! There are also cakes available at the counter for those that just want a sweet treat while they are working or chatting with friends.

No.1 Polsloe is a welcoming and homely café, and a great place to work or catch up with friends in. Their range of food and drinks is the perfect assist to this, and I will definitely be back to try more of their menu whilst I work.
