The Breakfast Club – Rabbit Café

Exeter’s first 100 per cent plant based café serves breakfast everyday of the week from 10am to noon, after which you can order from the lunch menu, and daily specials board. This little spot is popular amongst vegans and vegetarians but suitable for all dietary requirements. Reputed for its remarkable cakes, it’s hard to resist […]

The Breakfast Club – No. 1 Polsloe

No. 1 Polsloe, the clue is in the name. Located on Polsloe Road, this quaint café provides delicious food, the best value and an aesthetic worthy of the phrase ‘do it for the gram’. A true hero of the breakfast scene. Decorated with fairy lights, giant hanging ceiling flowers and the edgiest of wallprints, this […]

Tea on the Green Review

Nestled between Ask Italian and St Martin’s Church in central Exeter, Tea on the Green is a local culinary classic. In the summer months, you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea sat outside in the sunshine admiring Exeter’s impressive Cathedral or, if it’s slightly chillier, there is plenty of space inside in the cosy two-floored […]

6 cafés with a quirk

Board Exeter’s own ‘Board’ on South Street invites you to crack open a board game while you sip your latte. Whether it’s a classic game of Monopoly, student favourite Cards Against Humanity or a new indy game such as Tsuro of the Seas, you’ve got your pick of the board game bunch. It’s a good spot to wile away an afternoon […]

Pret: A Controversial Coffee Shop

We all know that the decision to allow Pret to descend onto campus was an unpopular one among many of Exeter’s students; the big businesses have been taking over and offending the delicate sensibilities of our largely left-wing campus. But Pret is here, and it’s here to stay, so it’s important that we evaluate how much […]

Student work in Exeter – what can you do?

If your money has been engulfed by a combination of January sales and Christmas festivities, and you’ve still got weeks of term left and you’re certainly not living the Exetah rich dream, why not get a job? I’ve spoken to a few Exeter students to get some job advice (I may have a leaning towards My Tutor Web […]

Review: No. 1 Polsloe Café

With the top quality food, chic décor, and lightening quick service, breakfast at No. 1 felt like a true indulgence. Add to that a value-for-money menu, and you’ve got the city’s best new dining spot. Last week, Emma and I jumped at the chance to experience food at the café given 5* by every TripAdvisor […]

What’s for breakfast? Take your pick!

There is little I love more than going out for breakfast, much to the disappointment of my boyfriend who would rather sleep the morning away. Luckily for me, when I do manage to persuade him breakfast is worth waking up for, Exeter has a host of quaint, contemporary, up market or all you can eat […]

As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell Group universities, we stand united against the Russell Group statement which declared ‘no detriment’ or ‘safety net’ policies not to be ‘appropriate’ or ‘necessary’ for students at this time.

Having listened to students at our universities, we are calling on the Russell Group to act compassionately and empathetically and to reconsider their stance on ‘no detriment’ politics for assessments this year.

Students deserve to be listened to.
