After three years spent in the EX4 area, it is safe to say I have built up quite a collection of items during my time at university.

A TP cup is a typical Exeter student collectable. Although people usually swarm to a fallen TP cup on the dancefloor like a flock of seagulls for its monetary value at the bar, I personally see it for its value as a pot for wildflowers. Where a regular vase is too tall for smaller, delicate plants, a TP cup is perfect for the likes of daffodils or bluebells. Plus, it is a great memory of the Timepiece club itself if memory fails you after having one too many drinks!

Recently, after the Party on the Beach event at Exmouth, I scavenged for multiple beach rugby reusable cups with my flatmate – their cool sunset design will feature heavily as drink cups at our future house parties! The event even sold VKs in buckets, which we also nabbed to take home – shame they didn’t come with a spade too!

Soon after, a walk on the beach turned into a side quest to find the prettiest shells. I came home with quite the assortment of scallop, clam, and mussel shells!

Even when a bottle of bubbly gets finished at a party, I like to keep them and repurpose them as decorations (particularly as Exeter doesn’t recycle glass!). I instead clean them out and fill them with fairy lights to decorate my apartment.

At the beginning of my second year, I took the annual trip to Ikea on the outskirts of the city and bought a plant… but a real one this time! This Swiss cheese plant (which I have named ‘Grande Queso’), has been the main feature of my bedroom for the last two years… but he is slowly taking over my room with how fast he is growing – I fear he may need his own seat in the car when I move out!
