Review: The End of the F***ing World

Sometimes you don’t realise you want something until you have it. This pretty much sums up both The End of the F***ing World’s plot, and my own feelings after watching this odd, aesthetically stunning, eight-part series charged with deliciously black humour and poignant, emotionally-driven character development that lingers in the mind long after viewing. Available […]

“We are people. We are not just bodies.”: An interview with Channel 4 presenter Emma Woolf

Eating disorders can affect anyone, across any age or gender. Many of us have been affected by them at some point in our lives, whether through supporting a friend or experiencing it ourselves. However, discussing eating disorders openly still seems to be taboo. It almost seems as though these struggles have been pushed behind closed […]

Review: Hunted

Hunted tries to recreate the feeling of “being on the run” with big names and seemingly real life escapes from the CCTV that permeates our “surveillance state”, as Channel 4 insists on calling it. Fourteen ordinary citizens are given the chance to be fake fugitives, whose aims are to evade capture for up to 28 days. […]

As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell Group universities, we stand united against the Russell Group statement which declared ‘no detriment’ or ‘safety net’ policies not to be ‘appropriate’ or ‘necessary’ for students at this time.

Having listened to students at our universities, we are calling on the Russell Group to act compassionately and empathetically and to reconsider their stance on ‘no detriment’ politics for assessments this year.

Students deserve to be listened to.
