Sony

Review – Venom

Now, more than ever, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to superhero movies. The enormous box-office successes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has studio executives spilling their coffee left and right as they scramble to find the next character to throw onto the big screen. Up to bat next is antisocial anti-hero Venom. […]

HelloGames: a failure in managing hype

No Man’s Sky is inarguably one of the most anticipated games in recent years, generating buzz across many communities with its promise of exploring the ultimate sandbox: space. The hook was deceptively simple: you have a spaceship, and you travel through the universe, exploring planets and discovering new biomes, minerals, plant-life, and animals on every […]

Uncharted 4 review

Sic parvis magna. Greatness from small beginnings. This wasn’t exactly a phrase that meant a big deal to me as I readied myself for my fifth adventure in Nathan Drake’s grave robbing gear (including the Vita-only Uncharted: Golden Abyss). Initially, it appeared nothing more than some, albeit pretty, wording adorning the special edition Uncharted 4: A Thief’s […]

A Long time ago, but not that far away… Console Wars!

If the gaming industry were seen as a schoolyard; Nintendo would be the kid off on the side doing its own thing, PC gaming would be the head teacher overseeing everything, and Sony and Microsoft would be the two children squabbling over which of them has the most up to date toys. This phenomenon of […]

EXP: Will Virtual Reality gaming be a hit?

EXP is brought to you by your host Harry Shepherd, who is joined by Sam Woolf, Jonathan Land and Peter Hartnell. Let’s Talk About Games

The Witcher 3 was the most talked about game of 2015 according to analyst Thomas Bidaux. After analysing millions of articles The Witcher 3 got 51,098 article mentions, with Fallout 4 coming in a close second with 50,144. It’s worth noting that Fallout didn’t get announced until June, meaning if Fallout was announced in at […]

Looking ahead to 2016 in gaming

2015 was a good year for gaming. We found a steady supply of decent AAA titles drop into our eager hands with a sprinkling of indies to boot: Dying Light, The Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Metal Gear Solid V and Fallout 4 released alongside the likes of Her Story, Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture and couch play classic Rocket […]

PS4 vs Xbox One – Is there anyway back for Xbox?

It seems like along time ago when the gaming world was eagerly awaiting the release of Sony and Microsoft’s ‘next-gen’ consoles. Back then, as a Microsoft fan, like myself, you may well have been vaguely horrified to hear that the now Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer has said that there is a good chance that […]

Virtual Reality: Gimmick or Game-Changer?

Virtual reality (VR) gaming has always seemed like a great idea. The notion of being able to fully immerse yourself in games is one that appeals to most gamers. But it’s always just been a great idea. Never has there been a VR experience which has caused the masses to ditch the more traditional gaming setup. […]

Playstation: An appreciation

Happy birthday, dear PlayStation! Happy birthday to you!’ I sing, as I place my arm lovingly around my beloved console, ‘Oh PlayStation, my old friend, you’ve grown up so much. Wow, twenty years! Remember all those late night Tekken 3 sessions? Or how about that time I faked being sick so I didn’t have to go […]
