Cozy Recipes: Minestrone Soup

Georgia Shepherd shares her tried-and-tested recipe to warm our cockles this autumn Minestrone is the classic soup for a cold winters day. It’s filling, chunky and full of nutritious goodness. Once you’ve added the beans and pasta, it’s basically a meal in a bowl. Having a day on campus? Take a flask of minestrone and […]

The Seasonal Visitor (Daisy Saunders)

You have no face, but I know you’re there, You creep around corners and leave warm skin bare, You slip into my covers and hide under my sheets, You stalk and you blow around cold, damp streets,   You whisper an echo of what’s come before, You shake against curtains and rattle my door, You […]

Treat yo’ self?

Deadlines have been killing me, my coffee supply is diminishing, and my umbrella has been inverted and attacked through some horrendous weather. Needless to say, I have been aimlessly stalking the internet for things to brighten up my mood and embrace Autumn (basically making a pointless list of things I really don’t need.) Etsy is wonderful […]

Campus catwalk

As we get back to university life, two Lifestyle Writers discuss their campus fashion choices…   Molly Gilroy, Online Screen Editor Arguably, I am a visually controversial Exeter student, being the furthest away from anyone who actively enjoys wearing gym stash to campus. I’m that person who wears heeled boots to campus and, after 3 […]

Album Review: The National – Sleep Well Beast

‘America’s Radiohead’ The National have brought forth their latest album Sleep Well Beast, meaning like many other delightful things such as Wonders of the World and the Harry Potter novels, their album discography now totals a glorious collection of seven. As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell As editors of student newspapers at all 24 Russell Group universities, we stand united against the Russell Group statement which declared ‘no detriment’ or ‘safety net’ policies not to be ‘appropriate’ or ‘necessary’ for students at this time.

Having listened to students at our universities, we are calling on the Russell Group to act compassionately and empathetically and to reconsider their stance on ‘no detriment’ politics for assessments this year.

Students deserve to be listened to.
